Welcome on BIRNSTAR
Birnstar is formed in early 2007. As one of my biggest dreams was to build a surfboard. This dream started in 2003 when I was visiting Oahu Hawaii for surfing and Kitesurfing. I surfed every day and I've met several shapers where I gathered a lot of information. Finally this dream became real.
So I started shaping, laminating surfboards, but as you know, a board "brand" needs a name, so I used the first part of my name to start with.
After two years I'm becoming more into testing sports gear in cooperation with several magazine's and brands and I wanted to share these results with everybody. Some of the pictures can still be found here.
End of 2009 I started my own business in distributing lifestyle sport goods, like kitesurfing gear, mountain gear and clothing.
